Support your club - it will be a great night!

It should be brilliant, parents have worked really hard to put this on

Roll up, roll up for the Beeston FC Race Night, it's time to buy your ticket.

The club's first fundraising event of the year will take place on Saturday February 3 from 7.30pm to 10.30pm at Round Hill Primary School.

It promises to be a great night - all you have to do is buy a ticket and turn up.

Parent-organiser Sarah Green said: "A group of parents have put lots of work into the night and it should be brilliant - but we need all of the other parents to buy a ticket. Please make sure you get one. You can contact me or speak to your team's coach."

The parents have arranged cheap beer (supplied by the Totally Brewed micropub on Chilwell Road, Prosecco (from Italy), wine and a deluxe kebab van, which will be parked outside serving top tucker.

It is hoped that if the Race Night is well attended it will raise more than £1,000 for the club to be used to improve the facilities at our Trent Vale ground.

Race Nights are a great way to raise funds. Around eight pre-recorded races will be screened and you can have a little bet on each one.

The takings on a race are split between funds for the club and a pot of winnings, which is then divided among those lucky enough to have stuck their pin in the right horse. The club also receives the ticket money and bar profits.

This is a night for novices. If you have never laid a bet in your life there will be plenty of people to advise you.

Parent-organiser Jim said: “It’ll be a good night and a chance to bring the whole club together, across the different age groups, as well as raise funds for Beeston FC. If you know your racing, it’ll be a bit more Pontefract than Ascot so no need to dress up, just buy a ticket and turn up. And if you know nothing about bookies and totes and you have never heard of a Burlington Bertie it’s no problem, we’ll explain everything.”
