Beeston FC has arrived, or at least you’ll know when you’ve arrived because we now have a BIG SIGN at our Trent Vale home.
The sign, which was erected last week, is positioned at the corner of the site close to Trent Vale Road. It is one of the first steps towards transforming the playing field and pavilion into a proper home for Beeston FC.
The sign, which measures 1.5m by 1.2m was designed by local agency, RizkMcCay.
The £570 cost was paid from the money we received through the Aviva Community Fund.
Committee member Leroy Payne said: “It is our flag in the ground. It advertises the club and welcomes people to our home.”
The club recently obtained a 99-year lease on the nine-acre Trent Vale site, which used to be the Plessey Sports Club. There are football pitches and a dilapidated pavilion. It is also home to the Trent Vale Squash Club
Beeston FC is raising money to renovate the grounds and club house. Our first aim is to raise £6,000 to reconnect the electricity and then around £10,000 to secure the fencing and equipment store.
Funding applications will be submitted to the FA and Sport England shortly to assist with the costs of upgrading the club house and improving the playing area.
