Beeston FC fund raising committee minutes

Our events will aim to raise the £6,000 needed to return power to the pavilion
- Beeston FC Fundraising Committee

Funding bids and events at Beeston FC will raise cash to pay the £6,000 charge to reconnect the electricity supply to the Trent Vale pavilion.

The club's fundraising committee, which met on Tuesday January 16, made the power supply its priority because use of the facility - and work to improve it - will depend on electricity.

[See minutes of the Fundraing Committee for January 16 below.]

The parents who volunteer to help with fundraising have already brought in more than £1,000 towards the total. Parents and players raised £600 before Christmas in support of Santa's Sleigh, run by Beeston Round Table. And the Aviva Community Fund bid, while unsuccessful in securing a grant of £10,000, did result in a donation of £500 to the club.

In addition, plans for the club's Race Night on February 3 are well advanced and local grant schemes for a further £2,500 have been identified and applications are being prepared.

Can you support the club? Would you like to join other parents on the fundraising committee? All welcome. Please contact Sarah Green on 07976 299229. Minutes of the latest meeting below.

Trent Vale Pavilion
Club has instructed a quantity surveyor, GNS, to cost the refurbishment of the pavilion. This will dictate grant funding required and future fundraising objectives. Firm may require payment upfront (before grant funding secured).

Aviva Community Fund
Club was unsuccessful in bid for £10,000 from Aviva but committee was pleased with the bid and campaign, as well as the wider benefits they brought. It was noted club now has an active website and social media presence, fundraising committee and greater sense of community than in recent years. Lots of people put in a lot of effort and that has given the club new impetus.

The money was earmarked for fencing, new doors for the equipment shed and toilets. The money will now be sought from the FA small grants scheme and parents have already sorted the toilets.

Aviva will donate £500 to the club.
