Coaches at Beeston FC Orange u10s have saluted the talents and efforts of their team – and the contribution of parents - after a wonderful season.

‘The Carrots’ won the title in the YEL Division 4 and were cup finalists in the YEL Trophy.
Coach Glen Laxton said: “It has been a fantastic season. The boys have done very well. We are so pleased with them.

“We can see improvement in the boys individually and the team as a whole. Some of the football they have played this year has been great and overall the lads have got stronger and more competitive. We are delighted.”

Orange u10s were promoted from Division 6 a year ago, had one season in Division 3, and have shown real progress by now winning Division 4.

“We are really looking forward to the challenge of Division 3,” said Glen. “We have progressed and it will be good test ourselves again at the higher level.”

The Beeston boys and coaches found it tough in the cup final against a good Rossineri side, who themselves had already won the Division 3 title.

The lads found it hard to match their opponents in the first half but took huge credit from a spirited second half display in which they took the game to Rossineri.

In the end Rossineri ran out deserved winners, but Beeston will learn a lot from the experience.

And ‘The Carrots’’ coaches were keen to praise the contribution of parents.

Glen said: “They turn out every week and offer lots of encouragement to all the boys. They bring the boys to training without fail and we really appreciate their involvement.”

Next up, 9-a-side and the offside rule!
