Club chasing honours on the pitch - and developing off it

The lads have been brilliant. The parents and I have loved watching them play football this season.

What a season this is turning out to be – on and off the pitch!

Beeston Football Club is competing in cup finals and pushing for promotion and league titles up and down the age groups. At the same time, the club has held its first fundraising event in recent years (the superbly successful Family Fun Day) and is in discussions with the Football Foundation and Nottinghamshire FA over a major grant to refurbish our clubhouse.

If that were not enough, we have also launched the Beeston Wildcats girls' football programme, with more than 50 female players attending in the first three weeks.

It is a fantastic time to be a part of Beeston FC.

But hold on to your hats, the excitement is set to go up a level on Friday May 4, when Beeston FC u18s take to the pitch at Eastwood CFC for the FA Challenge Cup Final, kick off 7.30pm. The lads would appreciate your support.

They will be followed by Beeston FC u9s and u10 Orange, who will compete in their respective cup finals at Hucknall Rolls Royce on Sunday May 13.

Meanwhile, Beeston FC is in the hunt for league honours here, there and everywhere.
Beeston FC u10 Orange has won the title in Division four and the u9s and u10 Black are playing off for their respective league titles.

The u13s, u14s and u16s are all working towards promotion to higher divisions, while the u15s and u17s are eyeing a top three finish in division one.

Glen Laxton, Beeston FC Orange u10 coach, said: “It has been a great season, whatever happens in the cup final, the boys have done very well, learned loads and played some great football, which the parents and I have loved to watch.”
