Parents organising family fun and awards ask for support

We want parents to get involved. We have got two events that children and their families will enjoy. Please come along

Beeston FC is inviting parents to get involved with the club.

A group of mums and dads have already set up a fundraising and events committee, and with a number of dates coming up they are now asking other parents to join in.

The upcoming events are:

Family Fun Lunch
Sunday April 15, 12pm – 4pm, Trent Vale Ground
Taking place straight after the morning matches, this informal do will give children, mums, dads, grandmas and grandads the chance to compete in weird sporting endeavours. They will include the backwards sprint and the international skid race, in which a piece of plastic is soaked in water and bubbles and the contestant has to skid as far as they can and stay on their feet. There will also be the opportunity for dads vs. lads at different age groups. And there will be lunch. Please do your best to come along and bring the family.

Beeston FC Presentation Day (soccer school, u8s, 9s, 10s, 11s and girls)
Saturday June 23, 3pm to 7pm (approx), Round Hill Primary School, Foster Avenue
This year the club’s junior section will hold its presentation event at Round Hill Primary. The aim is to create a really fun afternoon for children and parents. There will be the usual presentation of trophies and awards, but also lots for the family to enjoy, including bouncy castle, organised football, ‘soak the coach’ in the Round Hill stocks and more. For older members of our club there will be a bar. There will be a small entrance fee (players go free). The presentation night is an important event for the players, but we would also like it to be enjoyable for the parents, too. Please make a note of the date and come along.

The fundraising committee, which is made up of 10 mums and dads, has been looking at ways to generate more income for the club. The Race Night was not a success – it was cancelled due to poor ticket sales – but the parents hope these events built around the children will be more successful.

As well as raising some money, they will help to build a stronger community within our club.
The committee is looking at other fundraising schemes, too, including more grant applications, football cards, as well as organising a community clear up down at the Trent Vale ground to prepare for the new season and improvements to the pavilion.

Please get involved!
