Team play, positivity and luck is the way to play

On a mild windy morning everyone seemed in high spirits among the Beeston camp as they welcomed Loughborough Emmanuel Lions to their fortress known as Hetley Pearson.

Everyone was alert and got going from the first whistle as the strikers put the pressure on and the midfielders kept their oppersitions in their pocket. The first real chance came from the right as Luke Daminabo crossed it to Ellis Ross whos shot was blocked and the clearence hit Jack Chattens head and just went wide.

Beestons first goal came from some very calm defending from Zac Ross who shielded the ball to turn his man and play the ball down the line to Luke to run and pass the ball inside to Harvey Kirk to slot the ball away. Beeston was now passing the ball in all areas of the pitch and back to the keeper, they was communicating very well today which helped with players feeling less pressured to just boot the ball out from defence and to try and find a pass into midfield.

The second goal came from the strikers putting their keeper under pressure and a good clearence by loughborough but Luke read the play and intercepted the ball to drive forward and smash the ball into the back off the net.

After half time Beeston started strong but couldn't seem to get the ball past the defencsive line until Jack Chatten ran down the right side and played a cross to Nathan Evans who just lent back as he took his shot which went over the bar. Minuets later a through ball was played that split the defence and left the Loughborough team behind ment Oliver Mercer could get his first goal of the season after a legthy time out from a hip and groin injury.

A minuet later the ball broke to the edge of the area and Jack Chatten used his blistering pace to get to the ball and smash the ball into the top right corner. Loughborough then scored two quick goals that took VAR to confirm they crossed the line as the first was clawed out by the keeper but just after the ball crossed the line and the second hit the cross bar bounced over the line and back out.

Ellis Ross had made plenty of chances for himself and others but could of had a hat-trick if it wasn't for the post, good saves from the keepers and just didn't have luck on his side today. although he didn't score he worked hard for his team today passed well and created plenty of chances without getting frustrated and was awarded Man of the match. Well done Beeston!!!
