Centre defender delighted for first goal in 3 seasons

Today saw beeston play against a division 2 team FC Caviliers. The lads knew it was going to be a tough test today but they was all fired up and ready to give it all they have.

Both teams started strong but the Caviliers always had the edge over Beeston and scored three very good goals despite Dylan Mitchell making several important saves before conceding.

Then on the stroke of half time Beeston was awarded a free kick 25 yards out to the left of the goal and upsteps Ellis Ross who curls it up and over the keeper into the left side netting. Brilliant free kick!!!!

Second half begins with a lively Beeston causing trouble all over the pitch and the danger man Luke Daminabo making brilliant passes to split the team apart and making blistering runs down both wings. When Luke won a corner Nick Gardiner was sent up into the box and grabbed his first goal for the team in 3 seasons he couldn't believe it!!!!!

The Caviliers had most of the possession after that and ran away with the game bagging some real quality goals. Top performance from the lads today never gave up and walked off with their heads held high. A big shout to Steve Hyde, the U18s manager and club secretary, for coming down to support the lads and gave some good coaching points at half time.

Man of the match today goes to Nickolas Gardiner for his brilliant defensive headers, his defensive work rate and a top goal, Well done Nick!!!!!
