U9s so close......

After the upset of the midweek three way tie which ended up with the U9s finishing 3rd in Division 4 we headed to Hucknall to hopefully lift the U9s Shield.

At full time the score was level at 2-2, both sides giving it their all in an entertaining showpiece of a final. Extra time ensued…

Towards the end of the first half of the 5 minute half, the Cotgrave right back hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner of our net. Despite all our efforts in the second half, we could not even the score before the final whistle blew.

We walk away with our heads held high – disappointed of course - but we couldn’t ask any more from the players. Their attitude and effort were spot on.

This has been one heck of a season and we can thank the players for that. We look forward to the next one – who know what we can do!
