Beeston U10s - Extraordinary Comeback

Wow,

First half saw a bright start from Arnold who came out, fully charged after arriving early, prepared for a ding-dong.

With their lively open and forward play, Arnold left our defence in tatters and the score line almost insurmountable. We had a couple of moments, but we were run ragged. No doubt.

We walked in at 1-6. Half time didn’t come too soon.

‘José’ waved his wand.

The boys came out like different players. We clawed back two, then three, then four.

Some desperate goal mouth action and strikes from every position on the pitch left the crowd coughing out their delicious half time cake!

The boys at the back soaked up the pressure with an awe-inspiring performance nullifying their main man.

With two minutes to go we equalised - Could the dream come true?

Short answer is - no. But that is not what it’s all about.

Today was about a spirit that we all love, an inspiring game and performance that ALL the players can walk away from feeling proud of - it makes me happy to be a part of.
