Beeston U10s - Comeback Kids, Not Quite Enough

Loved witnessing yesterday’s performance.

Priory Celtic were a good side and got off to the best start with a speculative high effort that proved unstoppable. Beeston carried on creating and probing with some great team passing and individual skills. It looked inevitable that we would be next on the scoresheet. An exquisite free kick miraculously saved was amongst one of the chances. But against the run of play, Celtic doubled their tally.

Beeston eventually pegged one back with some brilliant passing and trickery proving too much for the sturdy Celtic defence.

At half time all we could say was ‘keep doing what you are doing’ as we were so pleased with the performance.

The second half was toe to toe again but Beeston were now on the offensive and a great free kick saw the fixture tied. The last few minutes were pretty nervy for me at least. Thought we were creating more chances, but Celtic were no mugs either.

The whistle finally blew at two a piece.

It was great so see us playing the ball on the floor with accuracy and grace on the 3G but also knowing that we can mix it up with the best of them in the mud and rain. This makes me happy and proud.

Loving the spirit, I feel it rising. Seat belts on, ready for takeoff!
