Three players bagged two goals each for Beeston FC Orange u10s as they recorded a fine 6-1 win over Long Eaton.
The boys lost to the same side in a summer friendly and this performance showed how quickly they are developing.
The score, however, hides how close the game was in the first half when Beeston had to fight hard to protect an early lead.
Orange found themselves penned inside their own penalty area for long periods and were grateful to Kyle, who pulled off some good saves in goal.
Long Eaton have some fine players, who Beeston struggled to match in the last encounter. But this time around the lads showed they have learned how to jockey and the tackling was good. The Whites were not allowed to settle.
Daniel, William and Kai grew in confidence and did well to keep The Whites best players away from the goal. While the midfield of TJ, Zak, Luke, and Ibrahim worked tirelessly to force Orange up the pitch. Up top, Will showed some excellent touches and composure and Ollie played with great discipline, breaking up Long Eaton's play and moving Beeston forwards.
Beeston forced three first-half goals but it was in the second half that they played the best football. The passing was more fluent and with the wingers staying wide The Whites were stretched and despite some fantastic defending Beeston pulled clear.
In one super move, William hit a high diagonal pass from the right back position to find Zak - who had stayed wide on the left. Zak controlled the ball, ran into the penalty area and scored off the inside of the far post. Watch it on Match of the Day.
Another great team effort. Well done boys.
