'Another excellent signing' - Mel joins club as new welfare officer

Educationalist takes on safeguarding role at Beeston FC

Beeston FC is pleased to introduce our new welfare officer, Melanie Arrowsmith-Kemp.

Mel, who is a coach of the u7 girls, takes over from Emily Ashdown, who has provided sterling service for a number of years.

Club chairman, Charlie Walker, said: “We were very lucky to have Emily supporting the club and we would all like to thank her for her hard work looking after the welfare of the children and young people who play for Beeston.

“And we are really pleased to welcome Mel, who is another excellent signing!”

Mel’s background is in education. She has a masters degree in special needs, special education and teaching from the University of Nottingham, and has been the designated safeguarding lead in a number large organisations including, the Derby Adult Learning Service and Portland College, where she was Assistant Principal.

Mel has a seat on the Beeston FC committee and will assist in setting the club's policy and direction, and help ensure all our coaches have the required checks and qualifications.
