The story of pacey strikers and intelligent passing

During a morning that shown all four seasons in one morning, Trent vale also hosted a game between Beeston FC and Carlton town yellow that had the highs, lows and all the drama anyone could want from an U12's game.

Beeston started the brightest looking dangerous on the attack but could never find that killer pass or shot to make all the possession count. After about 10 minutes the game shifted into Carlton's favour as their speedy striker was always on the shoulder of the centre back with two good through balls and excellent finishes Beeston fount themselves 2-0 down. Beeston began to tire but when Oliver Mercer received the ball on the centre circle he dribbled passed 3 players and rifled his shot into the top of the net from 20 yards out.

The second half started much how the first ended and within the first 5 minutes Carlton scored their third and looked well in control of the match.

That Oliver mercer loves a good long shot but with a rather tame effort the keeper took his eye off the ball as it bobbled over his arms and into the net. Then the old quick one two saw Ricky's shot hit the post and in as the keeper was just too late in clawing the ball out of the net! 3-3 and game on again.

Nick was the next to add to the score sheet as Carlton was defending on their goal line he poked in after a deflection, Beeston suddenly begun to believe this was possible and didn't let up as Jack Chatten finished from 10 yards out after following up another shot.

Beeston was now well in control of the match after switching from a 3-3-2 to a 4-3-1 and the midfield made the pitch look big by switching play and playing through balls. Ricky got another goal from about 1 yard out. Then Kai Kinsleys shot turn cross fount Harvey Kirk 3 yards out as he headed home Carlton got a goal back in the closing minutes.

A real good game and a classic Saturday morning game kept everyone in high spirits despite the weather. Man of the match goes to Joe Allan and Harvey Kirk. Well done boys!!!
