Beeston steal a point in the last 10 minutes!

Beeston managed to steal a late point in a thrilling match that saw Beeston score two goals in the last ten minutes of the game. This result means that Beeston drop to 4th place, 2 points off the promotion places.

It was a shaky start for Beeston, with keeper Davey Gallagher called into action early in the game to make a crucial double save in the 10th minute to keep the scores level. However, it wasn’t long before West Bridgford took the lead in the 30th minute with Caron’s header going straight to the West Bridgford player who took it forward and slotted it past the Beeston keeper.

6 minutes later West Bridgford had doubled their lead. The West Bridgford winger beat Fowler down the wing and crossed it into the box. Gallagher made the initial save but his subsequent punch out of goal found the West Bridgford striker who slotted it home.

Beeston almost pulled one back before half-time after Ben Knight put in a dangerous ball from a free kick which found Fowler, but the West Bridgford keeper made an excellent save to deny Beeston a goal.

Beeston started the second half off brightly, and 3 minutes in came close to pulling a goal back. Coupe delivered from the right into Ireson at the back post, who fired towards goal after he cut inside. He beat the keeper, but it was cleared off the line by the West Bridgford defender.

However, Beeston finally got their goal in the 80th minute from a corner. Whalin floated the ball into the box and Knight headed home for his 5th goal of the season.

The comeback was completed in the 89th minute, and it was Ben Knight again. The ball ricocheted inside the box and Knight fired home with his left foot, salvaging a point for Beeston to keep their promotion hopes alive.
