Hello everyone,
I do hope you’re all enjoying the brief break from football, although luckily, we do have a World Cup to fill in and carry on for the football obsessives amongst us!
On the pitch, this season has been a great success with 6 of our youth teams picking up silverware or promotion, and in two cases both! Here’s the roll of honour:
U12 Boys Sunday – League and shield winners
U13 Black - League and Cup winners
U14 Boys Sunday – Promotion and Cup winners
U14 Girls – Cup winners
U15 Girls – Promotion
And a shout out too to the U13 Girls who made the cup final and put in a great performance against Shardlow.
We also welcomed a women’s team to Beeston this season for the first time. Huge thanks to Jess Atkinson for bringing us the opportunity and being the driving force behind setting it up. We’ve completed our first season in Division 3 finishing mid-table and look forward to improving next season.
Having a women’s team is a great thing for the club and gives the girls teams a pathway to continuing their football journeys after the youth leagues. We’ve a number of the U16’s moving up to this group for next season! Homes games are played at Trent Vale on Sunday afternoons with a 2pm kick-off. Please come and show your support next season!
The men’s team completed another season in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division finishing mid-table. Dan continues to do a great job and we’re looking to push on next season.
Off the pitch, sort off, our groundsman, Simon Payne, continues to deliver top class playing surfaces at Trent Vale and with the purchase of our own tractor (funded largely through the Football Foundation) and Simon’s expertise we plan to continue improving the pitches in the years ahead.
Genuinely off the pitch, we’ve had a great year in terms of sponsorships coming in to the club with a landmark deal with Keepmoat to sponsor all the women and girls team a particular highlight.
Thank you to everyone who brought in new sponsors to the club (especially Nena Passi). We’re a small club so sponsorships go a huge way towards delivering the best football experience for the kids while trying to control the costs for the parents.
If anyone knows of, or works for, a business who would like the opportunity to get involved and help grass roots football please get in touch.
I’d like to thank all the members of the committee for their hard work during the last 12 months. We’ve got the club onto a stable footing compared to where we were a couple of seasons ago.
We’re always on the look out for new volunteers, either in a coaching or administrative capacity. If anyone can spare us some time, please reach out either through your teams coach or directly to me. We could really do with another welfare officer or two and it would be great to have a second pair of hands to back up Ben as the fixture secretary.
We’re holding the AGM on Monday 13th July at Trent Vale at 8pm. Please do come along.
For next season we have plans to reinstate the Sunday morning Soccer School at Roundhill. We’re tying in with FootballActive, who many of you will have seen at The Lanes school on Saturdays. This will help us to develop the youth teams of the future for the club so really looking forward to see how that develops.
And finally, we have our own Football Summer camp being run at Trent Vale by Tom Randall (U14 Boys coach), weekdays from July 27th to August 7th. This is aimed at primary year 3 to year 6. Please contact Tom if you’d like to book a place, numbers are limited so get in quick!
